Let’s make a meal of it

1 in 7 people, including 3 million children, go hungry in the UK.

That’s why FareShare is uniting behind one campaign, running at four different supermarkets. Because sometimes it’s only by working together that we can make the biggest difference.

Our joint campaign is called Let’s make a meal of it to help fight hunger in Britain. We’ve joined a pioneering new coalition called Alliance Food Sourcing which will identify and rescue new sources of surplus food in the food industry’s supply chain, to provide a steadier supply of meals for charities. It’s good quality food that would otherwise be wasted.

For every £1 that’s raised, 5 meals will go to people who need them.

Let’s make a meal of it and Alliance Food Sourcing are two important collaborations across the food industry and we’re proud to be playing our part – helping to feed the most vulnerable in our society whilst also cutting food waste.

All money raised at the checkout or online between 17th May & 1st June will be donated to FareShare (registered charity no.1100051 in England & Wales & SCO052672 in Scotland). The funds will help provide food, through the Alliance Food Sourcing initiative, to charities helping people facing food insecurity.
